Thailand updates cryptocurrencies accepted for ICOs

The coins may be chosen to invest in digital tokens through the ICOs and for operations and exchanges with other digital assets

According to a press release issued in late February, the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand updated the list of digital currencies that can be selected to make initial offers of currencies (ICOs). They may also be used as a base value for transactions with other digital assets traded in cryptocurrency exchange houses.

The entity also said that the list will be updated periodically and the criteria related to relevant developments and news, as well as aspects of the cryptoactive, will be taken into consideration in order to make the selection.

The update resulted in four digital currencies for investments of ICOs and pairs of base operations, including bitcoin, ethereum, ripple and stellar. On the other hand, bitcoin cash, ethereum classic and litecoin were removed from the list.

For its part, the SEC claims that the decision to eliminate the digital currencies mentioned above will not affect investors or businesses with cryptographic currencies. It should be noted that the commission began proceedings in January to obtain a license to facilitate the commercialization of digital currencies.
