The Chinese Internet giant has decided to use 130 hectares for said project, which will be completed in seven years

Net City is the name of the new city that will be built by the Internet giant, Tencent, which will be placed in the Shenzhen metropolis, in the southeast of China. They work hard on the development of a new campus and according to its creators the idea is far from being limited to any conventional office, but to a city completely destined for the execution of the project.

According to the announcement, the company intends to convert 130 hectares into its own city and is expected to be ready in approximately seven years. The compus will include offices, residences, shops and even schools.

The futuristic city

The project has devised a future plan and for this it chose the architecture firm NBBJ, as the partner in charge of the complete design. It is worth noting that NBBJ maintains working relationships with recognized companies in the technology market such as: Amazon, Google and Samsung.

The city will be designed to accommodate more than 80,000 inhabitants, who will essentially be Tencent’s employees and their families. Taking into account the stay of young people, adults, children and old people, the company plans to establish stores for shopping, cafes and schools. in order to cover the needs of the general population.

However, the peculiarity of this idea is that all its structures are based on the concept of a green city, free of automobiles and sustainable, in the field of environmental care. Buildings, for example, are equipped with grassy roofs and designed to collect as much water as possible and reuse it.
