Telegram ICO will not be released to the public

According to reports, the two private rounds of the company were more fruitful than expected, raising enough to start the projects

A few months ago Telegram, one of the largest messaging platforms in the world, announced that it had planned to venture into the development of its own digital currency. However, recent reports say it canceled the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) of its token, Gram.

This is because their two private rounds of ICO were more fruitful than expected, raising enough money to start the company’s projects. In each one an approximate of US$ 350 million was raised. These funds will be used for the development of Telegram Messenger and a new blockchain platform of the company.

Telegram Open Network (TON), was presented as a fast and secure blockchain, capable of handling millions of transactions per second. With more than 200 million users, the company expects its blockchain to become “one of the most used in the world”.

If it is that way, the Gram, cryptocurrency specially designed to carry out transactions in TON, has the potential to become a digital asset at the Ethereum level and even the Bitcoin.
