Telefónica tests blockchain platform in Uruguay
The program will start operating through Movistar and will ratify the validity and authenticity of the users' data
Telefonica, the Spanish multinational company, is conducting tests with a platform based on blockchain, which allows users to market their personal information.
The news was announced by the company Wibson, which offers a decentralized platform for data marketing, through which users can market validated private information by providing remuneration.
In a first phase Movistar will carry out tests to validate the authenticity of the information of the consumers of the subsidiary, residents in Uruguay. The company’s statement specifies: “Telefónica will serve as a notary, helping to verify the status of Movistar subscribers and associated data for consumers operating on the Wibson platform.”
The fact that Telefónica operates as a notary ensures that the data provided on the platform is authentic, updated and of high quality.
