Switzerland could soon accept cryptocurrencies as payment method

Through the work of Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse, the digital asset market would be entering the local economy

Cryptocurrency payments may be a reality in the future for Switzerland. The efforts of the Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse companies could open the doors to this market.

Several reports state that the region could use the initiative of these companies as a starting point to operate with digital assets.

Everything indicates that both merchants and citizens can make use of cryptocurrencies as a method of payment and collection for transactions with goods and services.

The cooperation will leverage the existing SIX Payment Services infrastructure to make payments with digital currencies. This has been part of Worldline since the end of 2018.

The goal of this partnership is “to strengthen the leadership position of Switzerland as a strong center in the crypto financial services industry.”
