Starbucks will not allow payments through cryptocurrencies

The rumor arose after the association of the company with Bakkt, a company dedicated to offer payment services in digital assets

Despite the rumors on Bakkt’s association with Starbucks, the latter announced that at the moment it will not accept payment in cryptocurrencies within its stores.

The commercial agreement between the two companies is intended to help Bakkt customers to bring their digital assets to US dollars and thus be able to use them in Starbucks.

This was confirmed by a spokesman for the company, indicating that despite the announcement “the cryptocoins will win ground thanks to the association.”

“Our role as the main Bakkt retailer is to consult and develop applications for customers to convert their digital assets to US dollars, which can then be used in our stores. We anticipate that a variety of cryptocurrencies will gain ground with customers and, through our work with Bakkt, we will be in a unique position to constantly consider and offer customers new and unique ways to pay without problems at Starbucks,” said the spokesperson. of the company.

He added: “As we move forward in this work, we anticipate that we will have more to share in the coming months.”
