South Korean exchange loses $ 5.3 million in bitcoins
The startup sent that amount by mistake to its customers due to a problem on its server
Coinnest, a South Korean exchange of cryptocurrencies, starred in a tragic episode related to the loss of millions of dollars in bitcoins.
As detailed, the startup sent its customers a total of 5.3 million dollars in bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies due to an error in computer software.
This incident was announced last week, when the exchange carried out the Airdrop of the cryptocurrency We Game Tokens (WGT). So, some users received bitcoins instead of WGT.
Coinnest sent a statement, which said it has no intention of compensating users who suffered losses due to server problems.
For now the exchange is working on the recovery of digital assets sent accidentally, action that will be made with a reverse of the transaction to have its cryptocurrencies back..
