South Korea will launch public blockchain platform

LG was the company selected to develop the platform that will allow to issue community tokens and certify documents

South Korea has selected LG CNS, subsidiary of LG, for the design of a public blockchain platform that will allow the issuing of a community token, certification of documents and other services in tune with the cryptographic ecosystem.

The bidding company is Komsco, which is responsible for printing fiat currencies. Spokespersons of the company indicated that the blockchain will be open and will be established in the cloud. It will be designed on the LG Monachain platform, launched last May.

It allows data authentication, a feature that the government will use to issue social assistance payments. About community tokens, they will be issued based on digital gift certificates that will go directly to the beneficiaries’ wallets.

Data authentication will be offered to users through a biometric signature using their smartphone. The action will be done quickly and safely. The banking sector will benefit from a similar initiative next month, through a blockchain for customer identity verification.

The document authentication feature of this public blockchain will be very useful in the handling of portfolios in which it is essential to know immediately if it is an authentic material or if the probability exists that it is a forgery.
