Sony prepares mobile wallet hardware

The electronics giant developed a tool that will allow the storage of various cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin

This week, the Sony company announced that it developed a technology capable of helping users of cryptocurrencies to store their assets.

The development of this tool came from the Computer Science Laboratories (Sony CSL), which created a hardware wallet of digital assets that could be used for the storage of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.

Unlike the rest of conventional wallets, this will save the user’s private keys through an IC card that will not have contact, something that allows signing transactions easily from a mobile device enabled for NFC

“This IC card type hardware wallet is small, portable and useful, unlike existing hardware wallets that connect to PCs via USB, and it is possible to securely generate and store a private key with a highly reliable tamper-proof module inside the IC card,” Sony said in an official statement.

Sony pointed out that this type of card will allow many types of “possible applications” to be made, which highlights the use of a special signature for a blockchain transaction that authorizes the use of personal information.
