Snapchat creates a tool for users with depression

The messaging tool enabled the option called "Here for you" intended to help people with emotional and health problems

The Snapchat instant messaging app shared a set of tools called ‘Here for you’ to help its users with emotional or mental health issues.

With this new tool, when users search for information on topics related to anxiety, depression, stress, suicidal thoughts or bullying, the application will offer them information from local experts.

“‘Here for you’ offers in-app support for users who may be experiencing a mental or emotional health crisis or who are curious to learn more about these issues or how to help friends with these issues,” says the company in a statement.

Snapchat first introduced ‘Here for you’ in February, but decided to push ahead with the launch in response to the new coronavirus pandemic.

Additionally, Snapchat noted that it is working to include a section in ‘Here for you’ specifically aimed at treating anxiety problems related to the new coronavirus. In this section I would also add information from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States.
