Serena Williams joins the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies

The tennis legend joins digital asset investors through her company Serena Ventures, which supports various companies in the world of social welfare, fashion and e-commerce

Through a post on her Instagram account, tennis legend Serena Williams made an important announcement on her investment company Serena Ventures, aimed at supporting early-stage companies.

Since its launching in 2014, the company has strengthened its mission to “provide opportunities to founders in a variety of industries, including diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity and opportunities.”

The tennis player is focused on promoting the self-confidence of women through entrepreneurship. In her account on Instagram she lists more than 20 organizations, including the giant Coinbase, the shaving brand of Billie products as well as the organic baby food supplier Little Spoon.

With respect to the crypto exchange Coinbase, based in San Francisco, United States, it is one of the more than 30 companies in the VC portfolio. The firm is in the global expansion phase that provides encryption-to-cryptographic commerce services in 11 countries earlier this week.

It worths it to mention another initiative of Serena Williams, through her company Andela, focused on the development of “training and subcontracting with operations in four African countries.” It currently has the support of a group of high-powered investors, for developments in the social welfare, e-commerce and fashion sectors.
