Seeds distributed in Apure State to cultivate 20,000 hectares of rice

In a joint operation, the Governor of Apure State, Wilmer Rodríguez, and the Ministry of Productive Agriculture and Lands, began distributing seeds for planting 20,000 hectares of rice

Apure State is emerging as a new rice producer. With this goal in mind, the distribution of seeds for planting 20,000 hectares began in a joint effort between the State Government and the Ministry of Productive Agriculture and Lands.

Governor Wilmer Rodríguez was present at the distribution of seeds to producers in the Paso del Libertador commune, in the El Amparo parish of the Páez municipality.

He indicated that in this first stage, the planting of 700 hectares is planned, with a subsequent increase to 5,000 hectares, to reach the state’s projected total of 20,000 hectares of cultivable land for this key crop in the country.

The goal is to transform Apure state into one of the entities “with the greatest projected growth as a new producer of this grain,” considering that the region’s main economic activity is livestock farming.
