SEC seeks for companies to monitor digital assets

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is looking for companies that are able to provide data on blockchain technology

Through a statement, the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States (SEC) announced that it is looking for new companies that are able to provide data related to blockchain technology.

As indicated by this action, it aims to obtain information to support the US agency’s monitoring of digital assets.

The SEC plans to examine the activities of companies that operate in the digital asset market. Thus, they will monitor the sale, trade, as well as the management of cryptocurrency assets, especially those that are considered securities.

“The agency is issuing this notice from requested sources as a means to conduct market studies to determine the availability and technical capacity of large and small companies to provide blockchain data to support the SEC’s efforts to monitor risk and improve compliance and inform the Commission’s policy regarding digital assets”, the official statement said.

On the other hand, the Commission also requests information that has to do with the extraction, conversion and verification of the data.
