Samsung prepares a second folding phone

The company said that very soon will be launched the successor of the Galaxy Fold, which could be more economical and flexible

Samsung is currently working on the development of a new smartphone with a 6.7-inch flexible screen that will succeed the Galaxy Fold which will also be cheaper and thinner than the original Fold, whose success will depend on whether or not it finally reaches the market, according to Bloomberg.

Before the launch of the first Galaxy Fold takes place, after being delayed last April due to technical problems on its screen will take place starting this September according to Samsung, Bloomberg has revealed that the South Korean company is preparing a second version of its flexible mobile that will arrive next year 2020.

Sources linked to the development of the phone have assured the second version of the Galaxy Fold will have a 6.7-inch screen, dimensions slightly smaller than the original: 7.3 inches. This screen will bend in the shape of a shell, resulting in a square when the mobile is folded.

Samsung is still working on the design of the mobile, but the company wants it to have a lower price and a finer profile than the original Galaxy Fold, which will be sold from 1,980 euros and has a thickness of 17 millimeters in the area of the hinge and 15.5 millimeters in the opposite.

As for the rest of the differences, the second Galaxy Fold will use a front camera perforated on the inside of the screen, in a similar way to that of the current Galaxy Note 10, while the rear camera will be dual (that of the first Fold is triple).
