Russian trade with Latin America fell by 5.8%

Between the months of January and February of this year where reported losses of approximately 200 million dollars are recorded

Russia’s Federal Customs Service reported this week that trade between the nation and Latin America fell by 5.8%.

As detailed by the Service, it occurred between the months of January and February 2019 and was lower compared to the same period during 2018.

In figures, this trade with Mexico, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Cuba went from 1,462.5 million dollars in the first two months of last year to 1,377.5 million dollars during the same two months of 2019.

From this list were excluded its main Latin American partners such as Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia and Uruguay.

Although the trend is downward, the commercial dynamics with the countries for which data are available are very diverse, ranging from growths that exceed 65% to drops below 20%.
