Russia could create its own stablecoin

The president of the Market Committee of the State Duma said that Putin's management is evaluating the possibility of creating a digital currency backed by the Ruble

Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the Market Committee of the State Duma of Russia announced that the State is evaluating the possibility of creating its own stablecoin supported by the country itself.

According to the official, the government of Vladimir Putin wants to create an electronic exchange unit that has parity one by one with the Ruble, which is the official currency of Russia.

The cryptocurrency will be supported by a certain amount of bank deposits, to then proceed to the use of blockchain technology for the issuance of this digital currency.

It should be noted that Aksakov had mentioned in October that bitcoin and ethereum were linked to a “bleak future” since they did not have any kind of support.
