Robinhood Crypto operates in New York

Robinhood Markets Inc received the awaited BitLicense from the New York Department of Financial Services to operate in the city

Robinhood Crypto officially launched its free cryptocurrency app in New York. The citizens of the city can exchange seven digital currencies without commission through the platform: bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, litecoin, bitcoin SV, ethereum classic and dogecoin.

Similarly, users can track price alterations and updates for those currencies and 10 additional cryptos. The service was launched in New York and in 38 other states in the United States.

It is worth remembering that last year the company was in the eye of the hurricane after allegedly having sold orders from its customers to other high volume companies. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) produced a report indicating that the firm traded users’ orders for up to 10 times its normal value.

For its part, the company defended itself arguing that it is obliged to help its clients to do business at the best price available, which is beyond their control.

Robbinhood also has an app aimed at millennials, which offers to operate in the stock market from the comfort of the smartphone without charging commission for the transaction and without a minimum deposit to open an account.
