The president of Parliament from 2022, and re-elected to the position until 2027, is a 45-year-old lawyer, declared: “We need to strengthen and rationalize our operations to ensure that this Parliament can be the legislative and political power that we want it to be.”
For the official, the main challenge now is for the European Parliament to “achieve its long-awaited right of legislative initiative and strengthen its role with the other two major European organizations, the Commission and the Council.”
