Research claims that a thousand crypto projects failed in 2018
The information compiled by DeadCoins and Coinnopsy yielded a significant number of projects that did not succeed last year
During 2018, at least a thousand projects related to the world of cryptocurrencies did not succeed, according to the information compiled by DeadCoins and Coinopsy.
The information ensured that many of the unsuccessful projects entered the scam category under the guise of Initial Coins Offers (ICO) as in the case of BitConnect.
DeadCoins indicated that there are also some 934 digital coins that are dead or that are simply no longer in circulation. In July last year, the firm had indicated that 800 electronic tokens were abandoned.
For its part, Coinopsy said it had found 483 crypto projects that are not active at present.
A cryptocurrency can be considered dead if the project has been abandoned by its founders, if it was a scam, its website is dead, has no transaction volume or no transaction validation nodes that support it.
The investigation categorized the dead projects as follows: Dead Coins of ICO, Dead Coins of Joke, Dead Coins Abandoned and Dead Coins Scams.
