The sum of 12 million euros was collected in the middle of criminal proceedings against "Lesen und Laushen", online platform that offers more than 200,000 electronic books

According to international media, German prosecutors in the Bavarian region sold confiscated cryptocurrencies valued at 12 million euros (13.9 million dollars).

The report indicates that the sale included 1312 Bitcoins (BTC), despite the essential measures of other progressive tax structures, including 1399 Bitcoin Cash (BCH), 1312 Bitcoin Gold (BTG) and 220 Ethereum (ETH). The types of computerized cash that were seized in the midst of criminal strategies were sold over two months in 1,600 individual transactions.

In this regard, the prosecutors pointed out that “given that all cryptocurrencies are exposed to the risk of price fluctuations or even total loss, the Central Cybercrime Office of Bayern ordered an emergency sale”.

The sum was raised in the middle of criminal proceedings against “Lesen und Laushen“, which is an online platform that offers more than 200,000 electronic books, and also recordings of books asking for a few cents as a subscription. Around 30,000 people used the scenario according to the statement.
