Possible fusion Fiat-Renault could “dominate the world”

According to the most recent public figures, sales could reach about 15.5 million vehicles adding up what each company markets

Much has been talked about a possible merger between the group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Renault, which could give a very important shift within the sector.

The latest available annual data indicate that the group would generate sales of 15.5 million vehicles if they add the volume both group trade.

Sales of Renault and Nissan vehicles, which in turn controls 34% of Mitsubishi, totaled 10.7 million in the 2018 fiscal year; Nissan contributed 5.7 million and Renault 3.9 million, while Mitsubishi sold another 1.1 million.

The possible FCA-Renault mix would make it the third largest group in the world by sales volume, just behind the Volkswagen Group and Toyota.

Together, the two groups market 17 brands: Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Ram and Maserati, in the Italian-American group and Renault, Alpine, Dacia, Lada, Renault Samsung Motors, Junbei and Huasong, for the French group.

The separate invoicing of these two large companies, for 2018, was recorded at 57,419 million euros for Renault and 115,410 million for Fiat.
