Polish bank will launch blockchain platform for documents
The PKO Bank Polski will use this technology to manage valuable documents of its customers
The PKO Bank Polski, considered one of the most important banking institutions in Poland, is preparing a blockchain platform to manage the documents of its clients.
The platform will be developed by the English startup Coinform, a company with which it has been working for one year and which has about 100 employees.
This project was announced in March, after the institution and the company had carried out multiple tests. Today they are ready to be applied to the five million customers the Polish bank has.
According to the directive board, the blockchain technology has a “huge” potential to face the competitiveness in the local financial sector.
“This is a relatively new technology for which there are constantly more applications around the world,” said Adam Marciniak, vice president of the financial institution.
For his part, Coinfirm CEO and co-founder Pawel Kuskowski said he trusts the country’s incentives for the development of the venture. “This shows that the Polish financial sector is open to innovation”.
