Plattsburgh will discuss mining regulations

Councilors of the district of New York study to harden the requirements for the installation of cryptocurrencies

Sources say that the city of Plattsburgh, New York, is about to start conversations related to the cryptocurrency mining farms.

Specifically, the region plans to tighten up the requirements for the assembly of machines dedicated to the resolution of algorithms for digital currencies.

The councilor of the Common Council of Plattsburgh, Patrick McFarlin, recently proposed that a new law be applied to present “zonal regulations” for mining activity. The audience for the discussion of this project will be held on October 25th.

In this proposal, there are sections that talk about fire safety, temperature regulations and special permits.

In case it is approved, the operators of the farms will be forced to maintain the temperature of their facilities at approximately 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

These suggested rules continue with the guidelines of a city decision to introduce an 18-month moratorium on new mining operations following the concerns of its residents about the high costs of electricity.
