Philips launches new Philips Hue with bluetooth connection

Philips Hue launched LED bulbs that connect to the Internet and can be controlled with wizards like Alexa or Google Assistant

The bulbs can be controlled by any bluetooth device and offer the same functions as Philips WiFi bulbs. Anything but an Internet connection can be done, i.e. turned on or off when out of bluetooth range. Third party applications may not be used either.

Also, you can change the color of the bulb individually, use one of the default scenes or create your own. As data to take into account, only 10 bluetooth bulbs can be controlled from a single device.

It is vital to emphasize that to distinguish these bulbs from conventional bulbs just look at the box, in whose upper right corner appears the bluetooth logo. In one of the sides next to the icons of Google Play, App Store and ZigBee also appear the specifications.

The purpose of the light bulbs is to bring the ecosystem of Philips Hue products closer together. Bluetooth technology makes these bulbs a more accessible product for users, so they can try them, see if they are convinced and then take the leap, buy the bridge and expand the network.

The bulbs are controlled with a new application and the tool has an option to import the bulbs into the bridge. Therefore, all the bulbs will pass to the existing application until now and can be controlled via WiFi.
