On sale FlexPai, the first folding cell phone

An American company called Royole is the pioneer in launching a flexible cell phone that can be folded in half

The race for the first folding cell phone that will be marketed ended up winning a US company. Royole Corporation was founded in Fremont, California, but its main expansion has occurred in China where it is known as RouYu. It was precisely in the Asian country where they launched FlexPai, the first folding cell phone that will be for sale.

The device can be used as a tablet that can be folded exactly in half, allowing to work vertically on any of the sides. According to the consortium, all the applications are adapted to change according to the orientation of the equipment and whether it is folded or not.

The screen is quite large with a size of 7.8 inches but with a thickness of only 7.6 mm. At the time of bending it can be perceived that it bulges a lot, especially in the part of the curvature because it leaves free space at that point. This leaves doubts about how difficult it will be to carry it in the pocket.

In addition, the device has Snapdragon 8150 processor and a dual camera located on the left side of 16 and 20 MP. The foldable FlexPai cell phone is already on pre-sale in China. It is at a value of ¥ 8,999, which is equivalent to about USD 1,290. It is not yet known if it will be distributed soon in other countries.
