Oil price hit by the consequences of coronavirus

The virus that has mostly affected China had a negative impact was on oil prices according to references taken today

The price of oil fell more than 3% on Monday due to the growing impact of the coronavirus outbreak in the city of Wuhan (China), which also caused the main Chinese stock markets to collapse on their first business day since last January 23, when they closed for the Lunar New Year.

Specifically, the price of the Brent barrel, a benchmark for Europe, plummeted 3.47% on the day, reaching 54.3 dollars per barrel, its lowest price since December 31, 2018.

Meanwhile, the price of the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) barrel, a reference for Europe, has registered a decrease of 3.01% this Monday, reaching $49.92, its minimum since January 8, 2019.

The National Health Commission of China reported Monday that fatalities due to the coronavirus have increased to 361, including 57 that have occurred in the last 24 hours.

According to Chinese health authorities, cases of infected people have risen from 2,829 to 17,205.
