Nintendo earnings reach 243.6 % during quarantine

The video game industry giant has benefited from the sale of the Nintendo Switch video console

The entertainment industry shows positive signs during the lockdown due to Covid-10 pandemic. The Japanese company Nintendo is a clear example of this, with accumulated profits during the first half of its fiscal year of 243.6 %.

Sales of Nintendo, considered a giant in the entertainment industry, have registered an increase of 73.3 %, for a total of 769.5 billion yen (US $ 7.373 million).

This is a favorable commercial phenomenon, driven by the commercialization of the Switch game console and the Animal Crossing video game. The company is satisfied with these preliminary results, and is confident that it will close the year with sales of over 1.4 trillion yen (over US $ 13,413 million).

However, Nintendo still has to face during the month of November the next launches of its competitors, Sony and Microsoft, which are ready to place on the market their new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X video consoles.

In any case, the profits obtained so far by Nintendo predict a promising future until the close of the fiscal year in March 2021. The projections regarding the net profit are located at 300,000 million yen (more than US $ 2,874 million).
