Nicolás Maduro announces electric rationing throughout the country

Before the recent blackouts that have affected Venezuela, and as a measure to recover in full the supply system, President Maduro indicated this Wednesday that a rationing plan will be established throughout the territory

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced on Wednesday that before the alleged attacks perpetrated on the national electricity system a special cargo management plan will be established that is not more than a rationing program.

After indicating that the second blackout lived in the early hours of the Tuesday March 26 was allegedly caused by a fire in the Guri dam, Maduro said they are working together government agencies, Corpoelec and the Ministry of Electric Energy for the total recovery of the system.

It should be mentioned that since this Monday, March 25, the country has suffered constant failures of the electricity service. In some states the service has not yet standardized, especially in those located to the West of Venezuela, like the State of Zulia.

The blackouts have affected the normal development of activities in the country. Maduro said in his statement that they are working to repair the equipment that was severely damaged by the alleged new attack made by a sniper that would have fired at the installations of the electric power generating system, leaving in dark almost 90% of the Venezuelan territory.

Citizens should be aware of upcoming government announcements about the rationing plan that will be applied while the equipments and the system are repaired to restore the electric service.
