New Android virus steals customers banking data

The malware Anubis can transform into fake financial applications by entering the Google Play Store

Customers of the Android platform could be victims of the theft of banking data due to a new virus called Anubis that transforms into fake financial applications or false online stores when entering the Google Play Store.

The vulnerability of digital systems has fostered the appearance of viruses and malware that subtract information from clients such as username, passwords, account numbers and cards to commit unlawful acts.

The discovery of the new Anubis virus was made by the digital security research company IBM X-Force. It is about a very dangerous banking Trojan that scans user information once you enter a password and countersign on your device and steal the data.

Due to the wide action of the virus, the cybersecurity specialists consider that it is a well organized criminal network and not just hackers.

From Google have taken the measure to change the codes of Play Store to stop the incursion of scammers to the system and provide peace of mind to Android customers.
