The incorporation of Mike Verdu to Netflix, a former executive of Electronic Arts and Facebook as vice president of video game development, marks the beginning of a new strategy aimed at incorporating this other digital entertainment product into its offer.

In a letter to investors on the occasion of the results of the second quarter, Netflix recognized its intention to expand its business with video games, and will do so first with games for phones.

The games, in addition, will not require a separate subscription, since “they will be included in the subscription of Netflix members at no additional cost in a similar way to movies and series“, the company has assured.
