Netflix studies new regulations for users

The entertainment platform is looking for a way to "offer new friendly ways designed for the consumer"

The streaming platform Netflix studies how to regulate users who share their payment account passwords with other people and is currently shuffling “consumer-friendly ways” to limit these behaviors.

This was recognized by Netflix Product Manager Greg Peters in an interview on the occasion of the publication of the company’s benefits in the third quarter of 2019.

Peters acknowledged that Netflix “continues to monitor this, so we are analyzing the situation“. The company will study “consumer-friendly ways to push the limits” of this situation, Peters admitted.

However, the executive has stressed that the company does not have big plans to announce at this time in terms of doing something different in this regard.

According to a survey conducted by Magid for the CNBC network, 35% of millennials (16 to 36 years old) share the passwords of their streaming services, a percentage that is reduced to 19% in the “X” generation ( born between 1961 and 1979) and 13 percent in those born between 1946 and 1965.
