NBCUniversal will launch its streaming service Peacock in 2020

The American chain NBC Universal of Comcast Corp’s announced its new streaming platform that will feature original programs as well as more than 15 thousand hours of content

With the adaptation of Battlestar Galactica, considered one of the science fiction media franchises in the United States, NBCUniversal will allow the tool to provide more than 15 thousand hours of content included in a catalog of series and films produced by renowned manufacturers such as Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, Illumination and other Hollywood studios.

The American mass media company is expected to become a competition for the giants currently on the market such as Netflix and Amazon, and other online video on demand services coming out of Disney and Apple.

Meanwhile, the manager of direct supply to consumers and NBCU digital projects, Bonnie Hammer, said that this project lives up to the quality content that the public expects from NBCUniversal. The semiotics that exist in the logo of this company represents the feathers of a peacock.

Hammer added: “Peacock will be the place to see both the classics and the current, from the unmissable moments of the Olympic Games and the 2020 election to fan favorites such as The Office.”

Subscription prices for the platform are expected to be revealed later, on dates close to launch.
