Muscat: “The cryptocurrencies are the future”

The Prime Minister of Malta assured during his participation in the UN General Assembly that the electronic currencies aim to be the evolution of fiat money

During the 73rd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat assured that cryptocurrencies are the “future of the world”.

“The blockchain technology converts cryptocurrencies into the inevitable future of money,” explained the politician of Malta.

Muscat also highlighted a great virtue of the blockchain, which can create large systems of medical care for patients, where they themselves can have “real ownership of their medical records.”

The Prime Minister added that with this technology people can make sure that no one is deprived of their property due to compromised data.

Joseph Muscat spoke about his blockchain island project, stressing that its fundamental pillar will be the legal security offered by this technology. Nowadays, Malta is one of the countries with more cryptocurrency centers along with Japan and South Korea, among others.
