MouseBelt launches blockchain educational programs at California universities

The firm is officially implementing blockchain educational programs at three California universities: UC Davis, UC Los Angeles and UC Santa Barbara

The firm backed by more than $ 40 million in New Value Capital funds and that helped develop courses at Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge, currently helps 65 student blockchain community groups at 14 universities around the world.

One part of the program funds goes to the research department and the other to the blockchain engineering department. MouseBelt will sponsor undergraduate programs until PhD.

The first fund will cover research on all three campuses, specifically for the development of blockchain projects. In addition, MouseBelt reserved a fund of $ 500,000 with up to five projects competing for initial capital of USD 100,000.

Similarly, the company is donating to the engineering departments of the three universities. Thus, the accelerator hopes to cooperate with donations to raise funds for university research with a limit of $ 500,000.

University outreach director Ashlie Meredith said the program is designed to fill a knowledge gap about blockchain in the university system. “Most universities do not teach blockchain classes, which leaves the student organizations to fill the void,” he said.
