Microsoft removed update for Windows 10 for deleting data

The long-awaited YourPhone desktop app update presented a flaw when downloaded, causing users' personal files to be deleted

Internet users waited with great expectation this month the launch of the update for Windows 10. However, it had to be removed, as users reported that when it was downloaded, it deleted the personal files and folders.

The update included the YourPhone desktop app that would allow viewing Android on the computer. However, users who managed to download Windows 10 were aware of the immediate disappearance of personal files.

According to the opinions of some technicians, this is a situation that has already occurred in forums such as Reddit, where a default configuration eliminates complete profiles when installed and this necessitates a manual edition of the registry to avoid stopping data erasure.

It was known that Microsoft allegedly knew the failure from the beta phase of the update, but no measures were taken to correct it after considering that they were isolated cases.

The warning that they have sent to the users is to avoid the 1809 update and in case of having it installed in the YourPhone app make the backup of the data immediately.
