Microsoft integrates its technology with Nasdaq

Microsoft will integrate its Azure blockchain technology into the Nasdaq financial framework of the stock exchange

Nasdaq launched the Nasdaq Financial Framework (NFF) in 2016. The modular design of the framework takes advantage of a single operating core that drives a broad portfolio of business applications and services throughout the commercial lifecycle.

According to the announcement, Microsoft will integrate its Azure blockchain service with NFF, with the purpose of enabling an independent blockchain to be compatible with a strategy of multiple ledgers.

The integration of Azure blockchain will allow NFF customers to deploy several block chains through a common interface. This is possible through an innovative set of blockchain microservices to execute transactions and contracts.

The senior vice president and product management director for the Nasdaq market technology business, Magnus Haglind, argued that the capital markets industry is evolving faster than ever with the advent and advance of the cloud, the blockchain, the intelligence of the machine and other innovations.

The partnership with Microsoft eliminates the complexities of the integration of blockchain technology in existing infrastructures. The blockchain provides an abstraction layer, which makes the offer independent of accounting, secure and scalable.
