McDonald’s earnings showed an increase of 2%

The company of the golden arches earned revenues of $ 6,025.4 million in 2019

The McDonald’s fast food restaurant chain posted a net attributable profit of $ 6,025.4 million in the whole of 2019, equivalent to a 2% increase compared to the same period for the previous year.

The turnover in the 12 months remained practically stable at 21,076.2 million dollars, after the income from the restaurants under own exploitation fell by 6% and those originating in franchised stores increased by the same percentage, up to stand at 9,420.8 and 11,655.7 million dollars.

The president and CEO of McDonald’s, Chris Kempezinski, stressed that during the past year the company met “significant goals”, such as reaching a turnover of 100 billion dollars including franchised stores and a comparable growth of 5.9%, the highest in the last decade.

The expenses of the multinational in the year decreased by 2%, to 12,006.7 million dollars. The operating costs of own establishments fell 6%, to 7,760.6 million dollars, while those of franchised restaurants increased 12%, to 2,200.6 million dollars. The item of sales, general and administrative expenses advanced by 1%, to 2,229.4 million dollars.

The cost of financial interests stood as the item that grew the most (+ 14%), reaching 1,121.9 million dollars.

In the last quarter of 2019, the company’s net profit reached 1,572.2 million dollars, 11% more, after accounting for a 4% increase in revenues, up to 5,349 million dollars.
