Marvel against crypto startup launching of Wacoinda

The creation of the cryptocurrency from the film Black Panther generated alarm in the directors of Marvel, who have until November 14 to decide whether to take legal action

The entertainment giant Marvel is studying legal actions against a crypto startup that has created the Wacoinda  cryptocurrency and Wakanda Wine Fest based on the successful film Black Panther.

The kingdom of Wakanda was the inspiration for those behind the company Wilsondom LLC, responsible for providing and promoting financial and educational services on cryptographic currencies.

In view of the fact that the names selected without prior authorization have a direct relationship with the fictitious city in the film, Marvel has in its hands the decision to oppose or not to the commercial brand until next November 14.

Wacoinda was presented at the beginning of 2018, but it was not until last week that the extension was requested. If approved, the cryptocurrency would begin to function in financial education initiatives and the allocation of economic funds to the African-American people.

A curious fact related to the Marvel universe is the creation in June of the Akoin cryptocurrency by the singer Akon. The artist also plans to build a real city called Wakanda in an area of 2,000 hectares ceded to the singer by the president of Senegal, Macky Sall.
