Locatel accepts payments with cryptocurrencies in Caracas
Customers in the pharmacy network in Venezuela will be able to pay for their consumption using funds deposited on the AirTM platform, a digital currency exchange and custody service
The company reported that in addition to payments, Venezuelan clients interested in taking advantage of the agreement may withdraw bolivars in cash. In other words, users of Locatel Venezuela may deposit cryptoactives such as bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin and dai. They will also be able to manage their AirUSD, the account unit with which the funds are managed in the tool.
Locatel is working with AirTM to extend the new service to other branches in Caracas and the rest of the country, according to the company’s Twitter account. At the moment, the service is only available at the branch located at Calle Vargas de Boleíta Norte in the city of Caracas.
It is worth emphasizing that Venezuela is one of the countries with the greatest scope of AirTM services. The firm raised USD 7 million in a round of financing, ensuring that this country is one of the main markets of its platform.
AirTM has created economic support campaigns for the South American nation, especially in the midst of the economic crisis suffered by Venezuelan citizens.
