LocalBitcoins blocks user accounts from 22 countries
The company carried out this action without sending any kind of warning to those affected, who now must go through an "improved" verification process
One of the bitcoin buying and selling platforms, LocalBitcoins, made the decision to freeze the accounts of several users from 22 countries, including nations such as Panama and Puerto Rico.
A part of the text sent to these users indicates that they must go through an “improved” identification process. Despite this, the company did not provide more information about it.
This blocking of accounts means that users cannot open orders within the platform nor can they meet other users’ offers, nor does it allow transfers between internal LB wallets.
One of the main complaints of users is that the company did not issue any type of notice or something similar, nor has it issued an official or public statement regarding this situation.
