LG tests blockchain facial recognition technology

The intention is to incorporate technological innovations at the forefront for the creation of a payment system

South Korean consumer electronics company LG has announced the creation of a payment system that will include blockchain technology combined with facial recognition in order to facilitate and automate the process.

The information was disclosed on the sponsor’s official news blog, where the company assured that the development of the new product includes the integration of so many technological innovations at the forefront to facilitate payments that make the project one of the first services of its type.

Within the technical specifications of the product, it is detailed that the payments will be made with a community token previously designed by the company. It operates on the blockchain, taking advantage of its properties for the generation of digital value, avoiding double spending.

It is also known that the system will have a cloud storage space in which all the data associated with the process can be collected.

For his part, the director of the business development area for LG CNS, Lee Jun-Won, stated: “We hope that more people will make use of this new service, as the new blockchain-based community currency integrates with AI processes, making their use more convenient for those interested.”
