KB Kookmin Bank to provide cryptocurrency custody services

The South Korean financial institution announced the inclusion of this new benefit for its clients

South Korea’s KB Kookmin Bank announced that they are going to start offering cryptocurrency custody service for their clients.

According to several experts, due to the growth of the digital asset market, different financial institutions have begun to join this world.

This new service comes thanks to the bank’s association with blockchain hedge fund Hashed, the Cumberland Korea trading platform, and the audit firm Haechi Labs.

The partnership revealed by the blockchain-based fund will involve the management and storage of digital assets, as well as supporting optimal regulatory development and transforming the traditional financial sector.

For Hashed CEO Simón Kim, this collaboration presents “a significant change for the cryptocurrency industry in the country and the region”, adding: “The combination of our knowledge in the blockchain industry and the presentation of technical and commercial inquiries will inevitably open new doors for consumers and the country to usher in the new ear of digital transformation.”
