Japanese railway consortium will accept cryptocurrency payments

The largest railway company in Japan will allow passengers and tourists in the transport system to cancel their trips with digital currencies and stablecoins

The Japan Railway Group (JR Group) consortium will allow system users to cancel their tickets with cryptoactives using the Suica smart card.

Payment for the transportation service will be possibles thanks to the collaboration of DeCurrent Exchange and the main Internet provider IIJ.

It should be noted that JR Group has contemplated creating a cryptocurrency company. Later, this company could become an exchange or payment processing system.

At present, DeCurrent accepts cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, bitcoin cash, litecoin and ripple. In addition, it plans to include ethereum this year. That is, Suica cards accept payments in some or all of the above-mentioned digital currencies.
