Iranians begin to be affected by US sanctions to crypto sites
The US government had issued measures against two bitcoin addresses for alleged infection with a ransomware
This week, the US Treasury Department issued sanctions against two bitcoin addresses from Iran, which were accused of infecting more than 200 victims with ransomware and collecting ransom in the cryptocurrency.
Faced with this situation, the Office for the Control of Foreign Assets (OFAC) took action against the addresses that were linked to the residents of Iran Ali Khorashadizadeh and Mohammad Ghorbaniyan.
After these actions, several users reported difficulties in accessing the ShapeShift cryptocurrency exchange platform, despite the use of virtual networks (VPN).
