India will have its own blockchain district
The government said it will finance the development of a space dedicated to startups that work with the blockchain
On Monday it was known that a sector of the government of India is working on the development of a district dedicated to startups that work with blockchain technology.
The government is receiving support from the TI service giant, who signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tech Mahindra, a public firm located in India, which commemorates the alliance of both entities to develop what they claim would be the first “district” blockchain “of the country.
The district, which will be equipped with buildings to develop startups in the block chain, will be located in an area of Hyderabad, the state capital.
The media assured that the state will be responsible for the construction of the structures, in addition to providing advice regarding the regulatory policies linked to the blockchain.
This district represents the most recent effort by India to advance in blockchain development with government-backed initiatives. The neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh had previously signed an agreement with a fund to initiate the development of a blockchain ecosystem as part of the Vizag initiative, a “valley of Fintech”.
