IBM launches free digital education platform

The tool called Open P-TECH will be a program aimed at young people between 14 and 20 years old

IBM has announced the availability in Spanish of the Open P-TECH digital learning platform, which offers students and teachers training in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

According to the latest report from the World Economic Forum, more than 42% of jobs will have changed significantly by 2022 and will require new skills such as advanced analytics, “design thinking”, problem solving, and critical thinking.

In the framework of the annual Think 2020 conference, IBM has launched its Open P-TECH tool, a free digital education platform in Spanish, aimed at young people between the ages of 14 and 20 and educators. The platform provides technological competencies in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, in addition to highly valued professional skills in the market, as reported by IBM in a statement.

Once students complete the courses, they earn industry-recognized diplomas. In addition, educators can stay connected to students by accessing activities that extend their learning, and the program also features a student progress panel, to track their progress and assign new content as they evolve.

“We want to contribute so that the Spanish educational community can better prepare our young people today for a tomorrow in which technology is going to be decisive in all professional fields,” says Marta Martínez, President of IBM Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel.
