The commercial ties were established through the MinTIC with the intention of empowering people in technologies such as blockchain
The ICT Ministry has signed agreements with IBM in Colombia in order to deliver an ambitious program of technical training on disruptive technology such as blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and the cloud for the citizens of the Latin American country.
The main objective of the agreement is to promote the skills necessary for the fourth industrial revolution, as indicated by Minister Karen Abudinen at the signing of the agreement.
“This agreement is a sample of the social commitment that IBM has had with Colombia. Both the company and all Colombians have had the same dream in common: to achieve that technology changes millions of lives and is always at the service of all equally, to improve employability opportunities,” said Abudinen.
Medium-term projection
As a goal, the company and the Colombian government plan to train 62,000 professionals in disruptive technology, thus ensuring national demand and, together with the software giant, the training process can be accelerated.
In this sense, the general manager of IBM for the northern region of South America, Patricio Espinosa, pointed out that this agreement “with MinTIC is a positive step forward that allows us to continue working and contributing to training in skills in high demand in the country and help Colombian companies in the adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud and blockchain.”
