IBEX rises to 4.04% this week

The Spanish stock index conquered more than 7,800 points for the first time since the beginning of March

The main benchmark stock index of the Spanish stock market, IBEX 35, accumulated this Friday the 7,872.6 points for the first time since the beginning of March, adding a figure of 4.04%. In this regard, earnings for the week stood at 10.94%.

This Friday journey represents the optimism lived in the stock markets before a quick recovery of the economy. The reflected numbers also add to the fiscal and monetary aid measures applied by the European Central Bank (ECB) and from Germany.

The increase in the stock market has been resuming its activity gradually so far this year and despite suffering consequences due to the pandemic and the increases on Wall Street, the trading indexes have been increasing positively, during all the sessions.

Another factor that has enabled this rise has been the employment index in May at the US, a sign that is interpreted in economic terms as a growth phase and that also exceeds the progress made last month, when the stock was at 0.54%.

Across the Atlantic, enthusiasm for buying stocks reigned on Wall Street, also pushing up European indices. At the close of the markets in the Old Continent, the Dow Jones, the main indicator in the New York market added around 3.6%.
