Huawei announced the soon launch of its credit card, it is Huawei Card, a project that will be available both digitally and physically. It ill offer exclusive benefits for travelers, such as access to lounges at train stations and airports and also money-back offers when buying through Huawei Pay.
According to the promoter company, the plan could be a success for the Chinese giant and the agreements established between Huawei and UnionPay are expected to achieve the permanence of the project in its country of origin, unless the manufacturer finds a strong international ally such as Visa. or MasterCard.
Until now it is known that Huawei Card will have NFC for contactless payments on compatible mobiles, it will be stored on Huawei devices within the secure enclave that handles mobile payments, which means that user information will be protected and encrypted.
During the announcement, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, stressed that the first annuity will have no cost. He also assured that they are still studying the possibility of a completely free second annuity, but everything will depend on the amount of money paid that leaves accumulating through transactions made through Huawei Pay.
For now, no launch date has been defined, although it is presumed to be sometime in 2020.
