Huawei announces it will sue the United States

The Asian technology company does not agree with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2019 and wants to challenge it

The Asian company Huawei announced that it will file a lawsuit against the United States before a federal court, in order to challenge the constitutionality of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2019.

With this action the technology company seeks a declaratory judgment with respect to the restrictions directed at Huawei setting its “inconstitutionalities and demanding a permanent precautionary measure against these restrictions.”

“The US Congress has repeatedly failed to present evidence to support its restrictions on Huawei products, so we are forced to take this legal action,” said company president Guo Ping.

He also said that such a ban is not only illegal, but also blocks their participation in fair competition, harming American consumers. They await the Court’s verdict, confident that it will be beneficial to both Huawei and the users.

The claim states that section 889 of the NDAA of 2019 not only prohibits all US government agencies to acquire equipment and services from Huawei, but there is also a restriction regarding hiring and grants with company customers.
